Jay is a Director in KPMG’s Consulting practice in Singapore. He has over 14 years experience in the design and implementation of service delivery strategies and re-designing business models to guide service transformation.
Jay has a diverse record of achievement across a variety of sectors including the Banking and finance, Telecommunications and the Life Sciences sector.
Underpinning Jay’s emphasis on customer-centricity, is his expertise in designing target state service design, digital marketing strategy and execution plan, implementation of Customer engagement technologies and driving value-realization initiatives. He successfully applies an outcome based approach in translating strategies into measurable end-state outcomes, ensuring realization models support business and technology investment decisions.
Ernie is an entrepreneur with more than 5 years of experience in social innovation and technology start-ups based in Singapore. Drawing on her experiences as Co-founder and CEO at Code for Asia Society Ltd. and various stints in the education sector, Ernie is passionate about building communities and software that can scale quality education. Under her leadership, Code for Asia is now a digital talent accelerator that operates entirely online for young people to learn and to build tech ventures together.
A strong believer in collaborative innovation and cross-cultural collaborations, Ernie also manages Prep Junior – a mobile game for preschoolers to learn Mandarin – from concept to development and testing as Product Director. She has hosted ChangemakerXchange – an impact retreat for top social entrepreneurs from around the region to connect and collaborate in China since 2018. In 2019-2020, Ernie initiated the InnovAsian coalition with partners to spark and catalyse a generation of future-ready young leaders that can positively impact the region at scale together.
Apart from building communities and software at Code for Asia, Ernie enjoys teaching and tinkering with data science.
Kevin Fitzgerald is the Managing Director, Asia at Xero, where he leads the growth and performance of the Asian business, spending his time between Singapore and Hong Kong offices. Kevin and his team help small businesses and their advisors across Asia embrace cloud technology to run productive, more profitable businesses.
Originally from Ireland, Kevin moved to Australia in 2011 and led the Financial Services Recruitment Business for Robert Walters in Melbourne. Previously Kevin has worked with KPMG, Royal Bank of Canada and State Street Bank in Audit, Financial Reporting and Hedge Funds. His career in Xero began in 2015 where he led the Australian sales team as Territory Manager, and developed a deep well of experience in working with SMEs, working tirelessly with his team at Xero and Xero Partners to help SMEs grow.
Hoan is a Director in the Financial Services Assurance practice of PwC Singapore. In addition to his audit day job, he also leads the Digital Innovation Garage whose mandate is to develop digital offerings for clients. Hoan believes that the accountants and auditors are one of the key providers of trust vital to functioning capital markets as well as a vibrant and inclusive economy. While the accounting profession has made strides in adapting to technologies such as AI, Hoan believes that accountants need to re-imagine a not too distant future where they are no longer a key provider of such trust.
Adele is a Senior Manager in EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services team. She has over 15 years of experience in the audits of Singapore listed companies and other multinational clients under IFRS and US GAAP. She is familiar with managing large audits and coordinating multi-disciplinary resources and is experienced in leading engagements involving initial public offerings and SOX 404.
She is experienced in leading the project management office (PMO) role for various large Accounting Advisory projects relating to IFRS conversion and implementation. Other key Accounting Advisory projects include GAAP conversions, revenue contract reviews, IPO readiness, process and controls streamlining and digital solutions in the finance function.
She is also involved in projects that involve financial process and controls assessment and improvement. The projects include finance and accounting process gap assessment and implementation as well as post merger finance and accounting integration of target’s accounting standards, processes and policies to the acquirer.
Dr Donny Soh is an Assistant Professor at SIT where he teaches machine learning and software engineering. His broad experience spans across two decades, from his illustrious stint at I2R where he was the PI of several key industrial projects to his own Artificial Intelligence consulting firm where he launched several A.I. products into market. His products have gone on to win numerous international awards and have been featured countless times in the press. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Imperial College London and Masters from Singapore MIT Alliance.
Biing Huei is the Lead for Venture Growth at Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) Limited. He is responsible in helping member startups that are in their growth phase to achieve revenue and financing goals. He was previously a Venture Partner at Silicon Solution Partners incubating and helping startups raise financing. He was also a principal consultant with Global Sense Capital, matching businesses to investors and opportunities.
Biing Huei started his career with Matsushita Technologies as a Systems Engineer designing factory automated test systems, and subsequently growing into his business development role. Ever since, he had worked in sales and business development at multiple MNCs in the semiconductor and fibre optic industries, managing key accounts and distributorships in Asia Pacific. He was also previously the Director of Sales and Development at SEMI, a global industry association serving companies in the semiconductors and photovoltaic supply chains, where he was responsible for membership development, sales and customer relationships for SEMI in Southeast Asia.
Biing Huei received his Bachelors of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and his Masters of Business Administration degree from California State University East Bay (CSUEB).
Dr Kevin Ow Yong is Associate Professor of Accounting at Singapore Institute of Technology. He is also Head of SIT’s Accounting Technology & Innovation Centre. He holds a First Class Honours Degree (with University Medal) in Accounting from Nanyang Technological University and received his PhD degree from Duke University.
Dr Ow Yong is a Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore) and Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He currently sits on the UAFRS Advisory Council with Valens Research and he is a member of the IS Chartered Accountant Journal Editorial Advisory Panel with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
He has received several research grants for his research work, including an external grant from the KPMG Foundation and the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER), the prestigious Ministry of Education Tier II research grant, and most recently, the SIT Ignition grant in 2019.
Germin Ong is Head of the Strategy & Planning at the Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC). SAC is a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance that develops Singapore’s accountancy sector with the vision of developing Singapore into a leading global accountancy hub.
The department focuses on building business capabilities to capture growth opportunities, and developing Singapore into a centre for accountancy thought-leadership. To achieve this, strategies are developed to drive economic and manpower growth, including the promotion of Singapore’s economic interests internationally. Research and collaborative projects are also undertaken to grow Singapore’s accountancy knowledge.
Mr Ong holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University and a Master of Science (Management) from the University College Dublin. He is also a Chartered Accountant (Singapore).
Melanie Tan is the Training and Facilitation Lead of Deloitte’s Southeast Asia Innovation team. It is a cross-function unit dedicated to driving innovation as a long-term value creator across Deloitte’s Southeast Asia operations. She is currently working on projects such as digital asset transformation and partnership building in the Southeast Asia innovation ecosystem, among other distinctions in the field. Melanie also has experience in facilitation, organising hackathons/designathons and design thinking. Prior to her role at Deloitte Southeast Asia, she was the Programme Manager of IDEAS Hub at UWCSEA Dover, where she created multidisciplinary programmes for children from the ages of 7-18, focused on technology and design. Melanie graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Political Science) from the Singapore Management University. In her free time, she enjoys doodling on her iPad and pondering about dystopian futures.
Alvin is a senior compliance manager with the Practice Monitoring department in ACRA. Alvin’s core work revolves around the inspection of audit engagements in accordance with prescribed standards and other requirements by public accountants when providing public accountancy services, as well as inspection of quality controls of audit firms in accordance with the Singapore Standards on Quality Control 1.
Prior to joining ACRA, Alvin spent 9 years in an international accounting firm where he performed and managed the audits of financial statements. Alvin also conducted training for the audit practice within the firm.
